You obviously have Charlie, Peter, Kenny, Vanhi and Alex, which makes sense because they are the key players. There are just too many people and I don’t think they’re all relevant.
I don’t think the split narrative was the best choice. I do like Charlie but the narrative is split between him and so many other characters that it’s hard to fully connect with him. The premise kind of gave me Jumanji vibes mixed with Otherworld and I like both of those so why wouldn’t I like this? Ultimately I don’t find it engaging. I actually thought I’d read more than just 57% but I just don’t care enough to keep going. However, when the threatening messages start and the tasks go from harmless fun to having deadly consequences, can Charlie and his friends do what needs to be done or try and run? One things for sure, God is watching and only he can say when the game is done… When they do well they get rewarded and it seems harmless at first. But, through their phone screens and high-tech glasses the line between virtual and real starts to blur. Charlie and his friends are playing The G.O.D Game, a video game run by underground hackers and controlled by a mysterious AI that believes it’s God.
